Hair Rollers

Looking for that bouncy, full-bodied look? Want big, wavy hair like the models on TV? Well, you're in the right place. A few rollers used in the right way can give your hair a much needed boost, or tame unruly curls. Hair rollers do take a fair amount of time to use (although they're so worth it!), so keep a curling iron  around for emergency curl situations! A large barrel iron  will give you a similar look but can potentially cause hair damage due to the excessive heat.

Rag Rollers

For the least damaging and most comfortable option, try the old rag roller method. Grab some rags and twist your hair up, then tie the ends and take a nap. When you wake up and untie the rags, your hair should be in neat little ringlets! There are also more manageable rag rollers  that are made out of updated plastic material, yet still comfortable.

Hot Rollers

Hot rollers are great for dry hair. Right before work you can toss these in, let them cool and then hit the town with big, beautiful curls!

Conair Instant Heat Rollers

These rollers have special grips to easily roll hair around. Just place a pin after rolling and they should stay tight. The heater is easily plugged into any socket and rollers will heat up instantly.

Jumbo Hot Rollers

Jumbo Hot Rollers are a little easier for the beginner to manage, but will sometimes create looser curls. This is more or less a preference thing. However, the soft, cushiony surface is much more comfortable than some plastic spikes on other rollers.

Conair Hot Sticks

Hot sticks are similar to rag rollers but combine heat technology with a traditional design. These plug right into the wall and heat up pretty quickly. Unlike jumbo rollers, these will make much tighter curls.

Traditional Curlers

Get your hair slightly damp before using these, and leave in throughout the night or for several hours through the day.

Velcro Rollers

Velcro rollers are a cinch to stick in considering they stick right onto your hair. Just be careful when using or you may end up with tangles.

Caruso Hair Curlers

These are similar to the jumbo hot curlers but do not have the damaging heat. They are easy to use but are made out of firm plastic--difficult for sleeping in.

Travel Smart Hair Curlers

These firm plastic curlers are the same type of curlers your mother may have used: white grips and a pin to hold hair in place. These can be a bit uncomfortable but are very cost effective.
