Wrapping Guide

For a fancier present, like a wedding present, it's good to use wrapping paper that has a heavier weight like that of gift wrap bows can cover seams and add fun or elegance to your present. * Place the wrapping paper pattern side down and the gift box bottom side up on the paper. Hold up the paper around the sides of the box to find where the seam will have an overlap of about an inch. (Keep this spot marked with a pencil perhaps) Then cut along this line, perhaps using a yardstick to guide you for the straightest cut. * On the sides where you'll be folding the edges over, you want the paper to go a tiny bit more than halfway up the box. It's the excess paper here that will mess with your wrapping job because too much paper will make your corners sloppy. Always trim away access if you realize you have any. * For neat wrapping, tape down the wrapping paper at the first center seam to the box. Then fold the other overlapping side under itself a tiny bit so that you'll have a neater edge than it being scissor-cut. * For the sides, you want to fold the upper and lower edges with a diagonal crease. And then overlap them neatly the same way you just did with the present's seam. You can use the weight of the gift to pull against to keep your corners especially taught.
