Mario Kart Double Dash : Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and the rest of the 'shroom pack take to the go-kart tracks in this tremendously fun racing title. Round up three friends and try battle mode, otherwise you may depart this earth without partaking in one of its richest delights. And no, Nintendo didn't pay me to say that. I once played this sucker for 12 hours straight against my old college roommates.

Harvest Moon: Magical Melody : Not exactly the most exciting of premises here -- start up your own farm, tend to it and visit your neighbors -- but you'd be surprised how involved you get once you devote yourself to this fantasy world. An especially good game for kids.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker : That pointy-eared Triforce hunter is one of videogamedom's finest characters. In this entry he gets a cartoonish look, which drove away some bitter teens and adults. They missed out on all the puzzle-solving, monster-slaying fun the unpretentious kids had.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes : Helmeted, laser gun wielding heroine Samus Aran is the queen of the gaming universe. Help her hunt down evil space aliens in this winding, secret area-laden adventure puzzler.

Karaoke Revolution Party : Here's a novel concept -- the magic of karaoke without the long lines, booze or cover charge. OK, you can bring the booze if you want, in order to tolerate your pal's rendition of "Achy Breaky Heart."

Mega Man X Collection : All of the classic, side-scrolling Mega Man X adventures are included on one disc. Guide your arm-cannon-wielding robotic hero past gigantic monsters and through dangerous levels. A nice fit for the gamer who misses the past.
