Game Boy Micro Buying Guide, Stores, and Prices

Game Boy Micro

Barely bigger than a credit card, the Game Boy Micro  is the smallest multi-unit handheld video game console anywhere. More gimmick than substance, the Micro is Nintendo's effort to make playing handhelds in public look cool. Priced at around $100, the Micro is less expensive than the DS  but more costly than the larger GameBoy Advance , which runs the same hardware specifications. The system is best suited for those with little hands, but it's a helpful companion to anyone who wants a truly tiny, yet powerful little game system for their pocket. With a simplistic, two-button interface and three interchangeable faceplates, you can't go wrong getting this toy for a kid. The 2" LCD screen may seem too small, but thanks to a backlit screen and radiant color, the images come across crystal clear.

The Micro plays all GameBoy Advance games, and is a worthy competitor to the Advance. While its greatest asset is its portability, this can also be a drawback. Long hours of play can cramp your hands and wrists.
