Father's Day Golf Clubs
Here's why you should hook your dad up with some golf clubs:
First, he's the rock that helped you build your life. Being a parent is a tough job and your old man handled it with support and grace. He showed you the stars, supported your dreams, smiled down on you during the holidays, forgave you (girls) when you started dating that bassist with the pet ferret, he makes corny jokes, and he's a good cook. He's a good guy and he deserves a day to celebrate.
Your dad loves to golf. Everyone knows this about him, so every year all of his friends buy him golf themed cards and shirts, each more asinine than the last. Fortunately, you're an adult; you've figured out a way to make a living with your liberal arts degree and you can now afford to do a proper father's day tribute. You can buy him the golf set of his dreams. Unfortunately, all you know about golf is that it's boring to watch and Tiger Woods ''really'' likes the ladies. What do you do?

If your dad is new to the sport, helping him pick out his first set of clubs can be a rewarding experience. Most basic sets include a driver, a couple of irons, a sand wedge, and a putter, which is all you need to get going. You can pick up a simple set of clubs for a reasonable price, along with golf bags, towels, shoes, golf tees and other odds and ends. Maybe you guys can try out putters or take lessons together.
Trying to surprise your hardcore golfing dad with a new set of golf clubs is a bit tricky. An experienced golfer usually has very specific tastes and desires that can be hard to anticipate for a non-golfer. It never hurts to ask his golfing buddies or golf instructor about what clubs he's been keeping an eye out for. Bear in mind that, even if he tells you a specific brand or model, there are a variety of different components in each band.
Remember, buying gifts is as act of love. It's a way of saying thanks to your father for all the crap he put up with in raising you. Why not give him something that will make him happy for hours on end?
