Types of Tea
All tea comes from the same plant, leaves, how they are dried and cut, and, finally, how they are brewed. It is believed the Chinese began cultivating tea for consumption about 4,000 years ago, using it to flavor the water they had to boil to prevent illness.
In supermarkets and specialty shops today, you will find many varieties pf white teas, each with distinct characteristics and preferred brewing methods. Black tea has a bold flavor and should be brewed with water as hot as possible. More delicate green tea is best when the water is at a slightly lower temperature.
