A countersink bits, are made from high speed steel, or carbon steel. High speed steel drill bits are versatile since they can usually pierce through many types of materials. The steel can withstand the heat generated by high speed drilling. Carbon steel bits are drill well into most woods and should not be used on metal materials.
A Countersink bits also sometimes come available with soft grip handle in case you want to turn the bit by hand into the surface, instead of the quicker power drill.
