Coping with a Break Up

ByUser:Kristenmollica @timeAndDate(1281391105) The dreaded break upand my heart is still intact. So whether you're doing the breaking or you're on the receiving end, this guide will help you get through this rough patch ahead.

The Road to Recovery

Spoil Yourself Silly

Your heart is full of negative emotion and it's time to fill that void with a little bit of happiness. Just keep it within reason.

Happy Distractions

After several boxes of tissues and many Friday nights spent with your good friends Keebler Elves, and Chester Cheeto, it's time to get out of the house and do things that make you happy. Now when I say "distraction" I don't mean that you have to constantly find activities to avoid thinking about your ex. But the proper amount of distractions are good because you can't spend all day, every day dwelling on the past.

Moving On

The first few weeks are always the hardest. But soon that heart of yours will start to heal. Try to move on with your life and get back into the normal swing of things. Don't rush into dating again. A new partner might seem like a good distraction but if you're not ready, it will end up being an unfulfilled rebound relationship. Both your head and your heart have to be in the right place. When you are ready to move on, learn from the mistakes of the past relationship. This is what dating is all about. No one is perfect, but you should always strive to be a better person.  If things do not seem to get any better and if you feel constantly numb or lose interest in all activities, you are most likely suffering from depression. Please seek professional help. You can learn more about depression at this website: Depression.com. Remember, there are people out there who love you and want to be there for you. You don't have to suffer alone. Time heals all wounds.
