Contemporary Bedrooms

Basic Rules of Thumb

Storage and Organization

Clothes, personal grooming products, clothes, keepsakes that don't quite belong in the living room or home office, clothes... What you store in your bedroom depends on your living situation. A CD rack may be out of the question in one bedroom, while a bench at the end of the bed would be a poor fit in another.   '''Clothes Storage''' Your bedroom may be part sleeping space, part den, and part home office but basically, the main storage event in your bedroom is clothing. Check out these cool contempo drawers: '''Shelves ''' Smaller bedrooms and those with minimal storage space elsewhere in the home need all the storage the can get. Shelves are an obvious solution, but how best to implement them?  '''Nightstands ''' For all those little things you need to keep handy near the bed, like your alarm clock or your glasses. Ideally your nightstand will be from the same set as your dress, or at least from the same design ballpark. That said, you could work some real home decor magic with a piece in a completely different style so long as there's a unifying element to tie everything together. '''We Recommend: '''

Bedroom Furniture

Alright, besides dressers and other storage pieces, what belongs in a bedroom? What could we possibly be missing so far? A small seating area may be called for too, especially if your room is very spacious. Keep this area very simple; a few chairs, another area rug, perhaps a small table for coffee or magazines. This may also be a good place for a storage bench or magazine rack. A listening area for music buffs may also be apropos. Just be sure to keep any hobby space defined and separate from your sleeping space, or you may find you have trouble drifting off.

Bedding

Hitting the sheets should feel comfortable and luxurious, like sliding into the world's softest cloud. Your top priority should always be comfort, so choose your bedding well.
