Bratz Guide

Bratz, 10" tall fashion dolls, characterized by their big heads, eyes, and lips, long hair, and detachable feet, debuted in 2001. The original "Bratz pack" was a quartet of gals with an eye for fashion, named Jasmin Sasha Cloe and Jade

  • Jasmin -- Light chestnut colored hair and hazel eyes.
  • Sasha -- African-American with dark hair and eyes.
  • Cloe -- Blonde and blue-eyed.
  • Jade -- Tan skin with black hair and brown eyes.
  • Sharidan -- Black hair and blue eyes with pale skin.

Several lines ensued, including Twiins Triiplets and other individual dolls, as well as a Boyz Bratz  and Petz Bratz  collection. While very popular amongst the youngsters, their scant threads and provocative makeup are not what all parents consider to be a positive role model to their growing girls. In addition to their risqué look, certain dolls are suggestive by nature, such as Blind Date Bratz  and Spring Break Bratz Very few Bratz collections promote girls being successful, intelligent, or unique, making these dolls a questionable purchase. Nonetheless, girls still seem to love them despite the fact that Bratz only seem to care about few things: looking hot, shopping, partying, and getting boys. These could better suited for older girls (preferably tweens and older) who have already developed some sense of individuality and self-respect.
