Human beings rely a lot on their faces. We use them to make first impressions, to alert us of how others are feeling, and to express ourselves. The skin on your face isn't the same as the skin on the rest of your body; it moves more often and it gets more skin exposure, so it needs special treatment to stay youthful looking and, well, moist. Take good care of your portal to the outside world with a facial moisturizer.
Features
Moisturizers have one task, built into their name. Face moisturizers aren't nearly as simple. Some are better suited for certain skin types while others promise skin condition treatment.
* Antiteach your skin to be elastic. They can irritate sensitive skin though.
* SPF can be found in most basic moisturizers. Even if you have other sources of SPF, it apparently stacks so the more you use, the more sun protection you have.
* Skin correcting moisturizers promise shrunken pores, reduced fine lines and dark spots, among other things. They can also tackle extreme dryness.
* Sensitive Skin requires gentler stuff. Look for oilcomodogenic products, and dermatologist recommended moisturizers.
* Tinted moisturizer can add a little color to your face. They're a good alternative to tanning and fauxkissed look that's not orange.
Depending on your skin type, look for moisturizers geared toward dry or oily skin. It's worth noting that moisturizers work after dryness occurs, so use preventative measures to help your skin be healthy in the first place. Drink lots of water and try to eat well.
Tips
* Use your index and middle finger to apply moisturizer, in circular strokes for fuller, more even coverage.
* Whenever possible, try out a new moisturizer first by using travel sizes.
* Never try a new moisturizer or skin product right before an important occasion like a Wedding or job interview. Always test first.
* Let moisturizer sit in the palm of your hand for a moment before applying. The closer it is to body temperature before application, the better it works into your skin.
