Let your skin glow and look healthy by identifying your skin type, tones and undertones and choosing the perfect foundation.
Foundation Types
There are many different foundations. We can separate foundations as:
* Powder
* Liquid
* Cream
Or, we can separate them depending on the amount of coverage desired:
* Light
* Medium
* Full
Foundations get more detailed when you take in account combined skin types, coverage, and the amount of time needed to apply the foundation.
Other types of foundations include:
!
* Ultra-matte
* Oil-based
* Oil-free
*Noevir's Blotting Paper, to control excess oiliness.
* Combination: Pick which problem you want to fix most and choose your foundation accordingly.
* Dry: Your dry skin will like tinted creams and illuminators. Liquid foundations, or oil-based foundations, are also a good bet.
The second step is to figure out if your skin is sensitive or normal skin. If you have sensitive, this means that almost anything you put on your skin causes you to break out or develop a skin irritation. People with sensitive skin should apply foundations that are fragrancefree.
* Sensitive
* Normal
Skin Tones & Undertones
Determining your skin tone is relatively easy. Our skin usually falls within the categories of light, medium, tan, or dark. Your skin tone is usually how light or dark you are, which means that your skin tone can sometimes be uneven or change seasonally. Your skin ''undertone'' is more difficult to figure out. Undertones are the colors underneath your skin that appear when light hits your skin. The categories for undertones are warm, cool, or neutral. The standard trick is to look at the veins on the inside of your wrist in natural light. If your veins appear green, then you most likely have warm undertones. When your veins appear blue, then you have cool undertones.Women with neutral undertones usually cannot clearly determine the color of their veins.
* Warm undertones: If you have warm skin undertones, avoid foundations with pink undertones. Try foundations with yellow bases. Some examples include tan, wheat, honey, cream, and amber.
* Cool undertones: If you have cool undertones, you will look best with foundations that have pink undertones, such as natural, beige, or tawny.
* Neutral undertones: You're very lucky because foundations for either warm or cool undertones will match yours, so you have more leverage to mix and match.
