Most parents know that the best way to dress a baby is to wrap him or her up in layers. That way, even as spills and stains occur, or as the baby gets warmed up from activity, parents can simply remove a layer, leaving their child clean and comfortable. This means little sweaters, tiny shirts and a layer of underwear. Yes, underwear, and we aren't talking diapers or training pants here. Just because your little one isn't potty trained (or just started!) doesn't mean they don't require underwear. Body suits, thermal underwear, camisoles and t-shirts, and briefs make up the underwear section of the Baby's department in your local store.
Little Layers
For the underwear layer, a parent may choose to include a body suit or onesie for infants and young toddlers. For easy diaper changes with a onesie, look for snap or button closures around the leg area. Older toddlers who are ready for potty training can enjoy separates, like briefs and t-shirts or camisoles, with training pants beneath the briefs. In the winter, thermal underwear is also an option to help toddlers and young children stay warm. As with all juvenile clothing, you can find an endless variety of fun characters and colors to give even essentials like underwear a cute look.
Layered Protection
Like we said, babies are best dressed in layers. Removing clothes because of food stains or heat is a good reason to be glad of layers; it's never been tres chic to let your offless items, as clothing tags can scratch and irritate.
