Aprilia has a long history of making smaller bikes or 'light-weight motorcycles'. In fact, it was not until 1998 that Aprilia made a larger bike, the RSV Mille, which has been a strong competitor with Ducati and from the first model the RSV Mille was able to make strong name for itself. Since then, the Mille R, Falco, Tuono (naked), and Futura have grown out of the RSV Mille.
