Choosing a wheel lock can be a daunting task. There are a few steps you can take to narrow down which lock is right for you.
* Narrow down the make and model of your vehicle. Whether you have a sedan, each type is going to need different locks depending on the type of tire.
* Check how many lug nuts are on each tire so you know the size set you'll need for each tire.
* Find your thread size. You can purchase a thread pitch gauge to do it yourself, or take one of your lugs to a local hardware store. They often have different size bolts you can test the lug out on to figure out its size.
* Look the shape of where your lug nut is inserted. If it is flat, you want a standard mag style. If it is rounded, you want the ball style. If the side come at an angle down to the tip, you want the acorn style.
