Trunk Lock Cylinder Switches Buying Guide

Hopefully, your car was not vandalized or broken into. Or, hopefully your last kidnap victim found a way to destroy your trunk lock needs.

How to Replace Your Trunk Lock Cylinder

Armed with just two trunk lock cylinders. Here's how to do it: * Detach the two battery terminals with the crescent wrench. * Pop open the trunk. * If you have an electronic lock, disconnect its pin connector. This connector is inserted behind the lock and can be pulled out easily. * Take one crescent wrench to grasp the threaded lock post and the other to take out the retaining nut by rotating the nut in a counterclockwise direction. * Now the old lock can be removed through the hole revealed in the trunk. * Install the new lock through the hole. * One wrench to screw in the retaining nut this time. * If the lock is electronic, the lock connector should be plugged into it. * Once again, use a crescent wrench to reconnect the battery terminals by turning the retaining bolts in a clockwise direction.
