Silent Hill

by User:cmelgarejo @timeAndDate(1276192147) If your car ever stalls while you're taking a drive through some remote area, and while looking for help you stumble upon an incredibly foggy, seemingly abandoned town, do not go there for help. It doesn't matter that it has a cool looking amusement park, or that the police officer you find in the diner seems nice enough, don't stay there. If it gets to the point where your electronics start emitting white noise for no good reason, run. Run and seriously hope you're faster than whatever is behind you. Silent Hill is a staple in the world of survival horror. Each game takes place either in the small town of Silent Hill, or is related to characters and events somehow connected to it.  This isn't just zombies crashing through windows scary, it's seriously twisted monstrosities creeping towards you and all you've got is a pipe kind of scary. Silent Hill gets under the skin, where the enemies may be odd but sometimes the human characters are odder. Are you ready to step into the fog?

The Silent Hill Games of Team Silent

The original Konami team who worked on Silent Hill were called Team Silent.  They have since disbanded, but these are the games they've worked on. * '''Silent Hill''': The original Silent Hill introduced the town and its creepy occult back story. You play Harry, a man who ends up in a car crash and loses his daughter, and trek through the town trying to find her. Along the way, you'll discover things that can never be forgotten. * '''Silent Hill 2''':  A man named James get a letter from his deceased wife. It tells him to meet her in the town of Silent Hill at their favorite place. Letters from the dead? If that's not creepy, I don't know what is. * '''Silent Hill 3''':  Silent Hill 3 initially takes place outside of the town, but involves a teenage girl named Heather who is being drawn into the alternate, evil reality of Silent Hill. * '''Silent Hill 4: The Room''': This installment takes the games on a different route, one that involves a man who is trying to escape his apartment. It was not originally intended to be a Silent Hill title, so this is why the game seems to stray from the typical story.

Later Installments of the Franchise

After Team Silent disappeared, other developers have taken on the Silent Hill franchise. * '''Silent Hill: Origins''': A prequel to the original Silent Hill, this was released on the PSP. It follows a trucker who saves a girl from a burning building, then finds himself trapped in Silent Hill. * '''Silent Hill: Homecoming''': This was the franchise's return to the console. A soldier returns from war to find his younger brother is missing, and in his search, he finds out more about the occult happenings that took place in the town. * '''Silent Hill: Shattered Memories''': A reimagining of the first game of the series, Shattered Memories uses the players' responses to psychological profile questions and changes the game appropriately.
