The Rolling Stones

ByUser:Kristenmollica @timeAndDate(1278635101) So many good things came from the UK in the 1960s, including one of the greatest rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones. The Stones washed ashore during the British Invasion and they still haven't left. With 24 studio albums, 9 concert albums, over 90 singles and 200 million record sales, it's quite easy to see why they've been in everyone's top 10 list of greatest bands. These men are old enough to be my grandfather, but bless their hearts for still rocking out as if they were 30.

It's Only Rock 'N' Roll

But I like it, yes I do. As much as I'm sure you'd love to read about every single album they've ever created, lets focus on a handful that truly stick out. * '''Beggar's Banquet''' - The band's 7th album which steps away from the psychedelic and moves back to original rock and blues roots. The Stones also say it's one of their favorite albums. Enjoy classics such as "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Street Fighting Man." * '''Let It Bleed''' bye to the '60s with this fan favorite album. The band slaps on some mellow country elements, creating a diverse mixture of tunes. The choir in "You Can't Always Get What You Want" is reason enough to listen. * '''Sticky Fingers''' - This album starts brawls. Is it their best album or not? Let the tears flow on the ballad "Wild Horses" or enjoy the sweet taste of "Brown Sugar." * '''Exile on Main St.''' - Jagger doesn't understand why fans love this album so much. He thinks it's pretty terrible, but everyone else sees it as an iconic album despite its lack of popular singles. It's dirty. It's powerful. It's pure rock 'n' roll. It's The Rolling Stones. * '''Tattoo You''' - We now enter the '80s but The Stones didn't go all Flock of Seagulls on us. This album is comprised mostly of earlier outtakes and a few newly written songs. The opening track "Start Me Up" is unforgettable. It makes a grown man cry.

On Stage

It's probably easier to get Lady Gaga tickets than to see these guys live. Luckily you can still enjoy them on your stereo. They have over a dozen live albums and DVDs of their concerts. Enjoy some oldies with ''Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!'' For something a little fresher try ''Stripped'', ''Live Licks'', or ''Shine a Light''. For visual stimulation, pick up a copy of ''The Biggest Bang'', ''Live at the Max'', or ''Stones in Exile''.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

Well actually, when it comes to The Rolling Stones' merchandise, you can. Just about anything you can think of, you can find with their tongue symbol plastered onto it. You have your basic t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets to show off at the next gig, but there hundreds of other goodies you can stock pile into your shrine. You can find baseball caps and cowboy hats, pins, magnets, keychains, stickers, posters, and even clothes for your pooch. For fellow book lovers, there are dozens of biographies and tributes to this legendary band. Once you start up a Stones fan, he'll never stop.
