* If you work all day do not buy flowers that require constant care. If you do, hire a gardener.
* Colors are wonderful and can add contrast if your home is a neutral tone but don't go overboard.

* Gardens are not just about the flowers. You can add

Patio or Deck
* Make sure if you have a wood deck that it isn't rotting. Put a coat of sealant to protect it from weather damage.
* Brick patios look great in the backyard. They're good for pools because you won't have to worry about any splinters stabbing your feet.
* Get a nice set of tables and chairs and a big colorful
wicker chairs.
* If you want to use your deck or patio year round you can close it in with a mesh screen and make a
sunroom.
