Notorious BIG

Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G. was Brooklyn born in 1972.  He was on the quick rise to rap superstardom until his life was cut short from a drive by shooting in 1997 Los Angeles.  Wallace had a tough upbringing.  When Brooklyn was suffering from the crack epidemic of the 80's, Biggie sold drugs at the tender age of 12 to get by.  While he was on the streets, he began rapping to entertain crowds, after which he dropped out of school and got in trouble with the law.  After he got out of prison he made a demo tape.  Word of mouth got around about his skills, and The Source featured him in their Unsigned Hype column.  Record producer, Life After Death was completed during his life, but released just two weeks after his death on March 9, 1997.  It later became one of the best selling rap albums of all time.
