The Bosch are popular mass airflow sensors manufacturers.
Types
There are different types of Mass Airflow Sensors available today
* Hot wire sensor: A hot wire mass airflow sensor determines the mass of air flowing into the engine’s air intake system.
* Coldwire sensor: This sensor is part of an oscillator circuit whose oscillation frequency changes with sensor inductance.
* Karman vortex sensor: This sensor works by setting up a laminar air stream. The air stream is disrupted by a vertical bow in the sensor. This causes a wake in the air stream and subsequently the wake will collapse repeatedly and cause Karman vortexes. The frequency of the resulting air pressure oscillation is proportional to the air velocity.
* Membrane sensor: When air flows across the membrane, the upstream side cools differently from the downstream side. The difference between the upstream and downstream temperature indicates the mass airflow.
An unclean MAF sensor can cause problems in your vehicles, like difficulty in starting, poor accelerations, high fuel consumption and more. When the MAF sensor is kept clean, your car will offer improved vehicles Air/Fuel ratio, horsepower, and MPG. MAF sensor is very delicate and you need to clean them using speciallyCleaner'>cleaning products.
