4 8 15 16 23 42 . . . Lost is a widely popular drama/science fiction series that follows the lives of survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious island in the South Pacific. A commercial flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles crashes on an unknown island and the survivors must work together to not only stay alive, but figure out who and what is on this island with them. Up until Season 5, the show consists of what is going on in the present and either has flashbacks or flashforwards into the lives of the main characters. The flashbacks and flashforwards provide a secondary story to the main plot-line of each episode. The show has gained a cult following leading to in depth discussions on Lost mythology, philosophy, science, and recurring themes.
