Holiday Movies

We all love them; holiday movies. Whether it's for that good old warm Christmas feeling, or because we truly believe in the Great Pumpkin, holiday movies during certain times of year are made to get you in the spirit. Sometimes for Halloween, all you want to do is scare the crap out of yourself. Maybe for Easter you want Peter Cottontail to keep your kids entertained after the egg hunt. There are movies for all kinds of holidays, you just have to know what to look for!

Christmas

Christmas is the most popular holiday as far as movies go. They are all over television in the month of December and all over store shelves.  Classic Christmas films include: For those great, family friendly (and often funny) movies, here's a few titles to try: * Elf * A Charlie Brown Christmas * The Nightmare Before Christmas * How the Grinch Stole Christmas * Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer * Frosty the Snowman * Jingle All The Way And if you're a bit of a Grinch yourself, maybe a good Christmas horror will help? Silent Night, Deadly Night are definitely something different.

Halloween

Just about any horror movie will do for Halloween, but here are some quintessential picks, with a few specifically revolving around the holiday. If you want something more family friendly and that won't give your kids a very costly therapy bill when they are older, check out It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Other Holidays

Here are some ideas for movies that are great for other holidays during the year. * Easter: Here Comes Peter Cottontail is one of the classics for Easter. * Valentine's Day: Any romantic comedy will do, but the recent Valentine's Day movie has a star studded cast and is all about the holiday. * St. Patty's Day: There aren't too many movies surrounding St. Patty's, but Leprechaun horror movies. * Thanksgiving: Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a great pick. When all else fails, go with Charlie Brown.
