Green Day

Green Day has definitely evolved through the years.  From an immature punk band, to a worldly international rock sensation.

Green Day Evolution

Green Day has actually been around since 1987, when they were known as Sweet Children.  They changed their name to Green Day to avoid confusion with another band, Sweet Baby.  Here is a list of the California band's albums since their Sweet Children Days. * The very first album from Green Day, back when they were known as 1,000 Hours.  It was released back in 1989 and was available on vinyl only.  Nowadays you can probably just download it. * If you are a collector, you might want to know that 39/Smooth was Green Day's first full album. * In 1992, Kerplunct became an underground sensation among the punk rock world. * The band's underground success led to a major record label contract and their mainstream takeover with When I Come Around" on the radio; pretty much the whole decade, right? * After the success of Dookie, they struggled to recreate the same level, but they came out with several good albums in their "middle era" with Nimrod.  They struggled finding a balance between their punk roots and their own evolution. * After a four year hiatus, Green Day burst back on the scene with Wake Me Up When September Ends got the most airplay. * The band released 21st Century Breakdown in 2009 and are already working on their next album of the future.
