Were you ever the misfit in high school? The one that didn't exactly fit in? Glee isn't just for chorus nerds, it's for everyone who ever felt a little bit left out in high school. It's about drama, humor, relationships, and of course, music. The phenomenon that is Glee seemed to happen overnight. The show has only been out for one season and has been garnering the attention of critics, celebrities, and gaining lots of fans who love to call themselves "Gleeks". A musical TV show might sound hokey, but it's anything but. With a cast full of both newcomers and Broadway stars, and covering music from Lady Gaga to Beck, the show has captivated millions.
Characters
If you are new to Glee, you might have seen lots of faces but don't know who anyone is. Here's an overview of some of the main cast of Glee. It's an ensemble cast, so there's tons of characters but here are some main faces.
* William Schuester: The glee club's teacher, he's looking to return it to it's former glory so the principal doesn't cut the program completely.
* Terri Schuester: Will's wife who tells him she's pregnant to keep their marriage together, and then continues the lie.
* Sue Sylvester: The head cheerleading coach and Will's nemesis. She wants the Glee Club ruined so her cheerleaders can get the program money. Loves to make fun of Will's hair.
* Emma Pillsbury: The school's guidance counselor. She's been in love with Will since the beginning.
* Rachel Berry: The lead female singer of New Directions, she's a drama queen and feels she's destined to be a star, even if that means walking over others to get there.
* Finn Hudson: A jock with a voice, he struggles with losing his popularity after he joins New Directions.
Other characters include Quinn, Puck, Mercedes, Kurt, Artie, Tina, Santana, Brittany and Mike. While many started out as minor, by the end of the season they have all come into their own.
DVDs and Albums
* Since the show has been out for only one season, there is only a couple of options for DVDS. The full complete season 1 will be released in September, 2010.
* If you need your Glee NOW, the season has been released in two parts. Vol 1 Road To Sectionals is the first half before it's winter break. Vol 2. will be also out in September.
* With almost every episode, the music from the show has been released in MP3 form. Full albums are also available in various volumes, covering a certain number of episodes each.
