Girl Bands

By User:Kristenmollica @timeAndDate(1271092899)  Does anyone rock harder than chicks? No, I think not my friend. Females have been grabbing the mic as long as men and proving they can do it just as well. Despite the title of this article, this guide won't focus on all female bands, but rather femaleheads, my rockers, and anyone else who realizes that girls do it better.

Kickin' It Old School

It all had to start somewhere. If you want  to see the inspirations of many modern day bands, you'll have to go back a few decades. Here are some of the most well-known and popular bands of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  *When Ripped Jeans Were Grunge, Not a Fashion Statement Yes "back in the day," a.k.a the early 90s, kids wore ripped jeans and they made the rips themselves. Lollapalooza was our retreat, a place to rock out and piss off our parents. Girls weren't going to let the men have all the fun.  *debut album is a staple of 90s alternative.  *Girls Can Scream Too We're not as dainty as you think. We can hold our own in a mosh pit and be just as fierce and brutal. Kittie is not the only metal band out there. There has been a major boom in the metal genre for females.  *Beethoven Hangs Out with Chicks And so does Mozart. Symphonic metal and rock blends the elements of hard rock and metal with orchestral music. It can make for some truly epic music with sweeping string arrangements and operatic singing. *''The Silent Force''. *Party Like a Rock Star Thanks to Guitar Hero and Rock Band, you can be just as hardcore as these bands from the 2000s. Here are some bands, spanning all different subgenres, that continued to keep rock alive and not let the Spice Girls define "girl bands." *''Riot!''. They may not be as heavy as Otep but Hayley Williams knows how to rock a pair of tight yellow pants and a spiky bracelet.
