Dean Koontz

By User:AllieCashel @timeAndDate(1278521330) Famous for his suspense filled thriller novels, Dean Koontz has made the New York Times Best Seller List twenty four times. Although the term "suspense thriller" is broad enough to include the majority of his writing, Koontz often incorporates horror, science fiction, mystery and even satire into his work. One of the most interesting things about his writing is his desire to rationally explain everything in his books. Though this desire may take away from some of the magic of his science fiction scenes, overall it adds a realistic quality to some of his scariest images and seemingly far fetched ideas. As a result of his conversion to Catholicism during his college years, many of Koontz books stress the importance of faith, especially in God, and often feature characters who follow an unwavering moral compass. All of his stories are virtually impossible to put down, as their twisting and gripping plots will always keep you wondering what is going to happen on the next page.
