Cartoon

Can you imagine what your childhood would be like without your favorite cartoons? Neither can I. So, let's revisit some memorable ones:

The Classics

* '''The Flintstones''': Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilmaaaaaaaaa! Go get my TV remote so I can watch this show. Hanna-Barbera toons have a simplicity and elegance in their replication/imitation of live action shows like The Honeymooners. * '''The Jetsons''': If only the 21st Century was this cool (insert sigh here). The Jetsons have all the personal comforts you can ask for but still deal with everyday people issues. Some things don't change. * '''Looney Toons''': This is an absolute staple for cartoon mayhem and mishaps. Anyone who hasn't watched these was deprived a happy childhood. * '''Popeye''': A sailor that develops unnaturally large biceps when he eats spinach always saves the love of his life, Olive Oil. If that can't teach children healthy eating habits, what possibly could? * Animaniacs: This is where a lot of the "random" humor started. This show satires pop culture, celebrities, movies, and music. *Disney * '''Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers''': Chip and Dale have come a long way from harassing Donald Duck. Now they're a mystery solving team with the help of Monterey Jack, Gadget, and Zipper. * Darkwing Duck: "Let's get dangerous!" Okay, maybe not sooo dangerous. Darkwing Duck is a crimne fighting superhero that protects the city of St. Canard. * '''Goof Troop''': Put Goofy next to Mickey's arch nemesis, Pete, and you get lots of slapstick, lots of laughs, and lots of "ha-yukka yuk gawrshes." * '''TaleSpin''': This show features Louie, Baloo and Shere Kahn from The Jungle Book as sky pirates.

Nickelodeon

* '''Doug''': Remember those awkward tween years? Doug is a cartoon that epitomizes but teaches life lessons in the process. With a colorful cast of characters, Doug learns that being a kid isn't always easy but you can count on your friends and family to make it through. * Hey Arnold: Arnold lives with his sarcastic grandfather and sometimes loopy grandma. Life really isn't dull being a city kid, especially when you end up getting into more trouble than you oughta. * '''The Ren and Stimpy Show''': This show was a a satire for adult culture. It was often referred to as 'indecent' but would end up being considered in the same vein of cartoon humor as Beavis and Butthead. * Rocko's Modern Life: Rocko is an Australian wallaby who immigrated to America. He soon realizes that life in America is quite awkward and that it requires much more work to achieve the American dream. This, too, has a lot of adult jokes and innuendo. *MTV * '''Beavis and Buttschool students with an amazingly low intelligence level wander their town, get into trouble, skip school, and offend residents. They're obsessed with rock music and often critique music videos, even having cameos with stars like Cher. *Bigger, Longer & Uncut''', and amassed a devoted fan base.
