Even though people are less likely to develop pictures these days, thanks to the advent of affordable digital cameras and social networking sites, you should still consider investing in a photo album, journal or frame for your child. You'll still want a physical memory of your child during their early years, one which you can look at any time, even when the Internet is down. And a cute photo album or frame can make their nursery more personal; think of them as interactive decor.
Record Memories
Photo albums can be especially useful as keepsakes with the help of scrap-booking. Their first lost tooth, or their first gold star on a homework assignment can be placed in a baby album. Similarly, you may want to save scraps of their favorite blanket as it gets worn down. Basically, any physical thing that you want to keep can be placed in a memory book or a photo album as long as it's not too bulky.
Journals can also have pictures and suitably flat keepsakes placed within them, but the key to those is the writing. Memory books can be used to record an event in your baby's life, any way a parent wants. Record books require some consistency; taking care of kids can be tiring, and many parents are too wiped out to record their child's early life.
Make Memories
You can have just as much fun looking through a photo album or memory book as you can filling it up. Babies and small children enjoy looking at faces, especially those of people they know, and especially of themselves.
