Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium — $199.00
The Skyscout cleverly exploits GPS technology along with the latest advances in magnetic field/acceleration sensors. A great gadget. My only complaint is that Celestron is less than candid about it's accuracy...certain celestial objects may be several degrees from the boresight of the device. Celestron claims that the unit is in spec if the targeted object is "within the outer ring of the viewfinder". Well, that's fine...except that the field of view of the outer ring depends strongly on how...

Solar Super Cell 0.5V, 25mA Pkg/6 Space Industry (5mm x 20mm) — $8.95
As advertised, the super cells are very powerful considering the largest size one can purchase is 4cm x 5cm. I purchased a set of the 40mm x 50mm (4cm x 5cm) panels and just one panel will power a small electric motor with a load on it. The panels are extremely light sensitive; even late in the afternoon/early evening the panels provide enough power to run a small motor (albeit in clear, sunny New Mexico at 7,600 ft). One word of caution, the panels are VERY thin and flimsy; I broke a small chunk...

Simply plug this small phenomenon into your computer's USB port and watch in amazement as the electricity follows your finger tips while they graze across its surface.
Trebuchet Kit — $29.95
The main problem with this trebuchet is that there is no way to control the release point. The wooden release pin is at a fixed angle. The instruction seem to indicate that shortening it (an irreversible action) will cause an earlier release, but I found this not to be true. The angle needs to be adjusted. All of my projectiles were release on a nearly horizontal trajectory and went about six feet. The sling design is also very poor--projectiles won't stay put prior to launch. A big disappointment...
