Buy Now — $2.96
Save money and time when building your own creations by using our simple-to-assemble motor mount kits. You'll save time because there is no cutting tubes to the correct lengths, nor do you have to search high-and-low to find all the correct size centering rings. Everything is already included in these motor mount kits. Most importantly, you'll save money because you don't need to buy a large quantity of tubes and rings just to make one or two motor mounts for your rockets. The convenience is worth...

Pencil. Ruler. Scissors. Masking Tape. Hobby Knife. Wood Glue or White Glue.
Copperhead" — $5.89
To use the copperhead, you must insulate one side of each microclip by using a piece of tape on the jaw. Then just attach the clips to the tail of the igniter, with the insulated sides of the clips on opposite sides of the igniter. At this point, you'll have continuity and you can fire off the igniter. I recommend a 12V car battery to set these types of igniters off, as they take a bit more current.
Grave Danger — $36.95
Pencil. Ruler. Scissors. Masking Tape. Hobby Knife. Wood Glue or 5-Minute Epoxy.
Quest Sport — $10.58
What is a RockSim Design file? The RockSim software gives you a lot of information about the flight characteristics of this rocket: how high, how fast, where it will land, how will it react to wind, etc. The "design file" is intended to save you time. All the parameters (size, shape, weight, fin design, etc.) of this rocket have already been entered into the RockSim program, and saved as an electronic database file. You can just open it up in your copy of RockSim and start loading different rocket...
Ejection Charge Baffle Kits BT-60 — $5.49
"You not only show me the product and explain what it is, but you also explain why I might need to buy it. Your site does not take for granted that someone has been doing this for years and years. Box Racer — $7.49
Pencil. Ruler. Scissors. Masking Tape. Hobby Knife. Wood Glue or White Glue. Finishing Supplies like sanding sealer, paint and sandpaper (200 and 400 grit).
Quest Complete Launch Pad System — $23.30
The launch controller from Quest is unique, and I think if far superior to the one from Estes. First, it is a pistol-grip design. That makes it easy to hold. Second, it uses a single 9 volt battery. That is much cheaper than the 4 AA size batteries that the Estes launch controller uses. And finally, it has two ways to let you know that you are ready for launch. It has both a loud alarm beeper, and a blinking LED light. The Estes controller uses a light bulb that sucks the energy out of batteries...
DynaStar Snarky — $40.78
Pencil. Ruler. Masking Tape. Hobby Knife. Razor Saw. Finishing Supplies like paint and sandpaper.
USB Data Transfer Kit — $31.75
By the way, a fresh battery lasts about 23 hours, so you don't have to worry about the rocket sitting on the launch pad for a long time before you finally launch it. The unit doesn't start recording until it detects the actual launch. While it is sitting on the pad, it is just in the stand-by mode. All this controlled by software instructions that are already built into the payload. For your part, just turn it on, and drop it into the payload bay of your rocket.
DynaStar Rip-Roar — $36.97
Pencil. Ruler. Masking Tape. Hobby Knife. Razor Saw. Finishing Supplies like paint and sandpaper.

54mm Diameter ROUSE-TECH MONSTER MOTORS RMS-54/2560 Hardware Set — $222.00
A. Great Question! It has to do with the physics of rocket motors. To make such an motor case, you would have to design it to fit the largest engine. Then smaller motors would have a lot of empty space in them. First of all, this would be inefficient because you're carrying excess weight into the air. The extra space that should be filled with propellant causes problems with the rest of the propellant burning. There are vibrations and acoustics that resonate in the empty chamber that make sustaining...

Payload Bay Selection Chart Tube Size Fits 75mm diameter — $37.95
A. See the image below. The bay will be tight. But you're a person with above average intelligence, or you wouldn't be reading this FAQ. I'm sure you'll see that a 9V battery (if your electronics requires one) will have to be housed on its side so that it is between the rails. The sled itself is made from aluminum, which is thinner than the 1/4 inch plywood in the larger electronic bays. That helps give you some additional room. Finally, the threaded rods are skinnier, which also gives you a bit...

Aerotech First Fire Igniters — $10.35
The First Fire Jr. Igniters from Aerotech, are a 2-wire igniter that are designed for easy insertion into most all composite propellant motors. They can be used in place of the Copperhead igniter that comes with all Aerotech motors. The "Jr" style have a smaller pyro-head so they can be fitted into smaller composite motors, like the Econojets . These come with 24 inch leads, giving you plenty of wire length to make hook-up fast and effortless with standard "micro-clips." These igniters require...

Piston Launcher For model rockets that use an 18mm diameter motor (A, B, and C-size) — $11.24
The purpose of a piston launcher is to provide an extra kick to the rocket as it takes off. It does this by collecting the exhaust gases from the rocket engine inside a tube. As the gases build up, the pressure inside the tube increases and kicks the rocket off the pad with a higher velocity. It is estimated that the altitude increase from this can be greater than 5%. That's not bad, since you don't need to change anything else with the rocket.

Aerotech Mantis Launch Pad — $115.00
Third, the pad does require a large storage area. The legs and the rod are removable, but the plastic portion is rather bulky. Once assembled, the plastic portion does not fit back into the box it came in. If you are not going to use the pad as a display base for your great-looking rockets, you may need to find a suitable storage box for it. Another alternative is to look around in your garage for one of those folding lawn-chair sacks. It is about the same size and will hold this pad and its legs...

Estes Igniter — $5.87
Low Current, Low Voltage. These igniters are also more forgiving of dying batteries in your launch controller. It only takes a little electricity (120 ma) to set them off. So where other igniters may not ignite, these babies will flare up and get your motors going. Please note that since they are very low current igniters, some controllers intended for "high-power" rockets can set them off during continuity tests. Be sure to hook up an igniter to your system before inserting it into the motor to...

Mercury Engineering RDR-2 Rocket Kit — $49.00
Thick-wall cardboard tubes: They don't look thick because the tube is so large in diameter. But trust me, these tubes are meant to take a beating and survive some very rough landings. That means your rocket will last and last and last. 28-inch Diameter Rip-Stop Nylon Cloth Parachute. A kit this big, you have to have a cloth chute for the extra durability; and you get one!. Balsa wood fins. Balsa is very lightweight, so these fins help keep the tail-end of the rocket light. Because this is such...
Estes Launch Pad — $36.03
A. First, you'd need to swap out the aluminum rod with one made of steel . Aluminum is good for lightweight rockets, but you'll get too much whip of the model if the wind is breezy. Second, you would need to put a block of wood under the middle of the pad to prevent it from flexing under the weight of a heavier rocket. You should also make sure the rocket is higher on the launch rod, so the flame doesn't pound the blast deflector too hard. Otherwise, it may flex and snap off the plastic legs. Most...
18" (45.7 cm) Square — $9.74
Made from 7 oz. heavy-duty, high-visibility orange colored cloth. This makes your rocket easier to spot as it is laying on the ground after its flight. The construction of the chute protectors are entirely of Nomex, including the surging thread around the perimeter to prevent the fabric from fraying.
React-a-Pack Emergency Repair Epoxy — $4.31
Convenient Size - No waste to clean up later. And it stores easily in your range box or even a fishing tackle-box. No Mess - Mixes right in the pouch.
