I ordered a Gateway laptop I found on their website on Saturday with a great offer. "No Interest until July 2007 & $150 mail-in rebate". The price of the laptop was too good to pass up as well. I got the 2nd day shipping so it would arrive on Tuesday. On Sunday, I noticed that the ad had changed (as they do on Sundays), but the no interest and mail-in rebate offer was gone. I checked my status and it had gone from there as well even though I ordered it the day before the ad had ended. So I called their "corporate" office that handles online orders and upon checking on the mail-in rebate status on my order, the incompetant girl "accidently" cancelled my order. She apologized and suggested that I order it again online since it was a "web only" special. She didn't notice that the item was out-of-stock online now, but some stores have it. I told her that she better find a store that had it and have it on my doorsteps on Tuesday. She refused and basically denied that it was her fault that she cancelled my order. I asked to speak to a floor supervisor, but, low and behold, she claims there wasn't one available. After about an hour of arguing with this uneducated girl, she states that she would get a supervisor to call me first thing Monday morning and that she found a laptop at a store in Canada that would ship it. Well, on Monday, I received no call and after I called I talked to another lady that said no such item was shipped and that they don't ship items from store to store or to customer's houses. Finally, I told them to forget the whole thing because I was uncomfortable about buying from Circuit City in the first place because of their lack of service and I just wanted the laptop, not their service. So I'm without an item that I needed for business and Circuit City has another unsatisfied customer to add to their list. Do yourself a favor and shop at Best Buy or even Wal-Mart. At least their employees have a minimum of a high-school education.
