Shopaholic and Sister (Shopaholic Series #4), Shopaholic Series, Sophie Kinsella, Item
England is a land of plentiful shopping opportunities and colorful regional accents, and actress Kellgren nails the latter in her charming rendition of Kinsella's newest Shopaholic novel. Just home from her honeymoon, Becky Bloomwood, now the wealthy wife of Luke Brandon, learns she has a long-lost half-sister. The news delights Becky, who fantasizes about late-night sisterly chats and shared cappuccinos. But Jess turns out to be not at all what Becky expected. In a dour Cumbrian accent that...

Hail the return of Kinsella's airhead heroine, Becky Bloomwood, now married, pregnant and working as the head personal shopper for a brand-new London boutique. In this latest installment of the Shopaholic franchise (Shopaholic Ties the Knot; Shopaholic Takes Manhattan; etc.), the commercially insatiable Bex shops for two in every upscale baby shop and catalogue in London, snags a celebrity ob/gyn and leverages a pair of the moment's "most coveted" boots to negotiate a home purchase. Rebecca Bloomwood just hit rock bottom. But she's never looked better.... Becky Bloomwood has a fabulous flat in London's trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season's must-haves. The only trouble is that she can't actually afford it--not any of it. Her job writing at Successful Savings not only bores her to tears, it doesn't pay much at all. And lately Becky's been chased by dismal letters from Visa and the Endwich Bank--letters with large...

Sophie Kinsella's debut is a rollicking romp through the perils of shopping and spending, spending, spending! Becky can't resist a sale, and she's only a little overdrawn on her VISA. Besides, that new scarf is just too cute to pass up. Readers will laugh aloud at Becky's retail adventures as she finds new and creative ways to relieve her increasingly burdensome credit card debt. Emily Gray's narration bounces along with Becky and her buying whims, while delivering a humorous account of what happens...

September 28, 2009: Have you read the Shopohlic series? Well if that's a no you need to. This is the 3rd book in this series, but it's my least favorite. This book is about the all known Becky Bloomingwood or now known as Becky Brandon? After being in her friends wedding Becky realizes how much she wants to get married. Then right there she thought she was living in a dream she came to face a big problem. When 2 weddings are getting planned for her on the same day it just drives her insane...

December 08, 2009: This book was really funny and creative. It kept me turning pages and waiting to see what hilarious situations Becky would get into. Becky Bloomwood is really quite a remarkable and likable character BECAUSE of her flaws. Becky is very endearing and her love interest is a hottie! ;) I would recommend this book to anyone who loves laughs with a side of romance.

March 11, 2009: These books are hiliarious. The characters are witty and personable. I would recommend the series for anyone who likes to shop or has a shopping problem. I can really relate to the main character. I liked the series so much that I bought the last 2 books to see what happens in Becky's life next.

The world is a different place since Helen Fielding triumphed on both sides of the Atlantic, but the torrent of benignly self-indulgent Bridget Jones's Diary knockoffs has not subsided. In this sequel to Kinsella's bestselling Confessions of a Shopaholic, Becky Bloomwood, a personal finance "expert" with her own TV show, is more of a financial mess than ever: she can't stop shopping, even though she can't afford anything. She's even assigned her flatmate, Suze, to monitor her spending, but...
