| Claude Monet 2008 - Upon seeing Monet's Impression: Sunrise at a show in 1874, art critic Louis Leroy dismissed Monet and friends as lunatics, and in what he thought was clever satire, called the work impressionistic. Famous for his short, feverish brushwork, his bright, unmixed colors, and his enthusiasm for popular, middle-class imagery, Monet remains the most loved of the many great Impressionists. If you appreciate Monet, you are sure to treasure this beautiful wall calendar. |

| Camille Monet in the Garden - By Claude Monet - Claude Monet was born in Paris on November 14, 1840 but all his impressions as a child and adolescent were linked to Le Havre, the town where his family moved in 1845. As a child, Monet painted caricature portraits and exhibited them in an art supply store. Eventually Monet was convinced to become a landscape painter. In the late 1880's his paintings began to attract the attention of both the public and critics, which brought him comfort and even wealth. |
