Stringers are 1.5" square x 36" long. Rafters are 2 x 3.5. Beams are 2 x 6 and bracing is 5 x 5. Bracing attaches to the wall with heavy duty aluminum bracket. 20' Model requires stainless steel cable attached to building framing as shown. Cable and hardware are included. All three models include aluminum inserts in the 2" x 3.5" rafters. All screws and hardware is stainless and included in the kit along with adhesive and screw caps.

Using poles is a rustic way to create a pergola and save money. You can build your own pergola (or any pole structure) like the ones shown here. We recommend that you notch the poles with a small chain saw— this will increase the strength of the structure— and then fasten the poles together with carriage bolts and lag bolts.
