Very dramatic 4-8" crepe paperlike flowers in shades of white, orange, pink and salmon. To use as a cut flower, singe the stem with a match. I have never gotten the hang of that. We just enjoy them in the garden where they grow 2-4' tall.

Amazing semi-dwarf 20 inch plants produce up to 20 huge 6-8 inch poppies on strong wind resistant stems in shades of salmon, orange, red, scarlet, mauve, pink and white. They have contrasting black blotches at the base of their petals. Massed in the garden these make an absolutely stunning show in May and June. Foliage goes dormant by mid-summer but returns in early fall. Use plants such as Baby's Breath as a summer filler. Best in zones 3-8 as it prefers a winter chill. Packet is 250 seeds.

Adorning gardens around the world, Poppies are available in a wide range of species, unique colors and sizes. We have selected two mixtures of different types of Poppies that grow well from seed. As a rule, Poppies hate any sort of root disturbance. So, direct sow Poppies in rich, very well-draining soil in full to partial sunlight as soon as the ground can be worked in the spring. (If you must start indoors for transplant out, use individual cells or pots~not flats.)
