Our coconut husk chips is an excellent alternative to fir bark because they retain water longer than most bark. They have a life expectancy of 3-5 years while bark last for only 1-2 years. They are 100% natural and can provide better drainage and earation essentials for all variety of orchids.

Charcoal chunks are seldom used alone as an orchid medium. They are best combine with othere ingredients. Too muchcharcoal would not harm your orchids. They are added for extra help to maintain a healthy medium and to absorb excess fertilizers and/or contaminants and to improve aeration.
