I would not recommend this stand with wind. I live on a lake with good wind gusts. However, after putting the sand in, the base itself is not going to move. But our 11 ft. umbrellas all have been picked up by very small gusts and have broken! The stands & umbrellas are less than 6 weeks old! Problem is the stand stays put but it does not secure tightly around the umbrells pole. Also we ordered these in bronze and the white cap which is suppose to secure around the pole is bright white (very cheap...

I purchased this stand in champagne with the "9 ft. Coral Coast Quick Ship Deluxe Auto Tilt Patio Umbrella by Coral Coast" in mocha/champagne. I was happy to find the stand and umbrella matched although they were different brands and looked different in the pictures online. The stand is very sturdy and so far has been exactly what we wanted. We've yet to have any harsh weather though so we'll see how the stand/umbrella hold up then.

We purchased two of these umbrella stands because they won't rust. They are sturdy and filling with sand was easy. The problem we ran into was the height of the stand with the stand pole. One of our tables has cross bracing at the bottom and the pole is 2" too tall to fit under it. We are going to see if the pole can be cut shorter or if we can find a replacement pole as we'd like to use this stand.
