I use this recorder daily and I can't count the number of times the battery has been dead when I needed to use it or died during a recording. The recorder does a great job - I found it easy to set up (date time are the only things you need to change) and the mic pics up sound fine. Just be sure to have an extra battery with you at all times, and take the battery out when it's turned off if you can - which is a pain because then you have a battery rolling around your pocket as well as the recorder.
