I hope my information will be helpful, in case you ever receive questions from other individuals regarding the proper mute for a G-trumpet. Of course, there's a possibility that the D-trumpet mute may not fit all makes and models of G-trumpets, but it certainly fits the Kanstul 1520, if not others. (By the way, my G-bell is a 4.5-inch bell (about 11-12cm) - I don't know if that is a common size for a G-bell or not.)

I bought a new Kanstul 1503 for my son James last spring to replace a beat-up school loaner. Ceth set it up nicely. The Kanstul has boosted James' jazz playing tremendously and his confidence too -- now a senior in HS he is first chair trumpet in the Honors jazz band. Their band came in 1st place in a competition in NYC last spring. Delfeayo Marsalis gave a clinic at his high school this month and Marsalis commented that James had a really fine trumpet tone -- wow what a compliment!
