My only complaint is that the Japanese Beetles love them, so they look pretty for about a week after blooming until the Beetles swarm in and eat them. I haven't tried any means of pest control, but will have to if I decide to grow these again. The beetles leave all of the other plants alone, then once they eat the hollyhocks they disappear. so I guess if you wanted to protect your other plants...
