This is a great accurate saw. Although it's not a slider, its very rigid and thus can make very accurate cuts. I'd been testing saws for some time to insure that I got one that had little side to side deflection since I think that's the sign of a good saw. The cheap ones are really flimsy, and sliders tend to flex too. But this baby holds a cut making tight miters. So if you can live with cutting 4x4 or 2x6 you'll like this saw. But, that is no big deal because once it is set up it makes beautiful cuts.
