I use mostly for baking cakes but it should work well with cookies, candy ,etc. It holds its own with the more expensive mixers. Speeds from low to hi are not listed; it's min to max instead. At first, I did have trouble inserting the beaters. You have to align them and push them in firmly until you hear a click. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
