Here we have a nice old cornet. It is a Besson Prototype cornet serial number 491** which dates this horn to 1890. It is silver plated with much of it worn down to the brass. I would roughly estimate the finish at 50%. The valves move up and down quite easily and all the tuning slides move freely. The engraving on the bell reads:
