I have worn Birkenstocks for years but found I needed more of a heel to help alleviate back pain. These are the perfect comfort sandal. The straps are wide and fully adjustable, so the thong doesn't flop around on your heel, the footbed is nicely padded and the heel is a little high but not clunky. I walk everywhere in these and my feet are never sore or tired. They were comfortable right out of the box.
