THULE 982 Bike Frame Adapter
We purchased this bar for my wife's German-made cruising bike. We have a Thule hitch-mounted bike rack, and it was a royal pain to get her bike onto it. This has cut the mounting/unmounting time by 75%. It's not perfectly stable due to the one-size-fits-all nature of the mounting brackets on each end of the bar, but that is overcome by properly mounting the bike w/ bar to the bike carrier.

To help resist swinging and sway the adapter bar is oval, with the bar strapped down the bicycle is more stable than with standard round bar adapters.
