September 27, 2010: After reading all the Sharpe books, I decided that it was time to check out the movies, and this past winter, bought the series on DVD. Wow! - well, okay, you'll have to overlook the skimping on production values. Concentrate instead on story, and Sean Bean's bloody-minded, brilliant turn as Richard Sharpe, and John Tam's singing, and Daragh O'Malley who was obviously born to play Harper, and - I could go on in this vein for some time, but it would probably be simpler...
