This freestanding cabinet has a walnut wrap-around back panel with exposed plywood edges, a white top, and non-adjustable glides. Left side of cabinet has a pull-out file frame that accepts letter-size hanging files. Right side has a compartment with a white adjustable shelf. The single sliding door covers the left or right compartment. Door is white. Adjustable shelf can be placed in 3 locations; 4", 77/8", or 113/4"above the bottom of the compartment.

Sense Desk with Optional Desktop Cabinet by Herman Miller
Desks were either attractive and wobbly (not solid feeling) or else looked like something made for a steel factory. So I searched for Herman Miller solutions. A lot of them looked a little too corporate (most of the office stuff) on one end and a little too whimsical on the other end (most of the Lifework series). The Sense desk seemed like a good compromise. It's based on their office series so has very simple lines. But it's available with a nice walnut veneer that still looks nice in a home.
