RadioShack® Big-Button Remote Control
As I said before my parents rely on the comcast cable remote, but when using the universal in place of it I was able to access almost every feature. The buttons that you would strongly miss that this RS doesn't have is: no page up or page down, no info or guide buttons and no last channel. However the logitch remote seemed to miss some of those as well, but according to reviews for it it could be customized to do features. Because that remote had to be programmed via a computer connection it was...

8-in-1 Universal Remote Control with LCD Display
This unit is very average but then again it doesn't have a high end price tag. It has nice features but there is never enough memory to really do a good job. I desperately needed something that would do timed macros to allow my DVR to speak the same language as my digital converter box and it works great but you can only program one event. That is one event, both weekly and daily, so that would be one or the other not both because that would make it more than the one memory location allocated...

Remote Control A-B Switch
This device is on par with most consumer products on the market today. Here in Nebraska we use it on game day. It says to our loved ones: "I'm so lazy, I wouldn't even get off the couch to switch from A to B. I don't even care what A or B is. I'm just not going to do it. You do it." Works pretty well. I'm leary of many of these learning remotes (have 3 others sitting around). They all have so many buttons to push, within 10 seconds, while searching for codes that it makes it not so convenient to replace other remotes. This one is no exception, but I would say that it learned the other romotes quickly and without trouble. I'm shocked that the manul didn't include codes for Onkyo receivers, a major brand, no? Radio Shack remote Prowlers - ProwlerOnline, Plymouth/Chrysler
The only ones I have seen have been purple. I asked if there were any red ones and was told that they only had purple. I bought one at the end of last year and painted it red to match my red Prowler. Unfortunately, I never bothered to put it back together after painting it. When it is (eventually) all done and put back together, I will post pics.

I was replacing an older Radio Shack external ringer that died. This one is physically smaller but otherwise interchangeable (same length cord). It has a 3-position volume switch, but even on the loudest setting it's much quieter than the old one. I'm going to return it as soon as I can find a better one for my loud shop.
