For astronomy this product is great. It is very difficult to hold a 14x binocular seady enough by hand to see 4 moons of jupiter. It was not problem with these. Good for birdwatching because of the power and stability can really pick out details. Bad for birdwatching because of the relatively low light level due to high power and 40mm objective and narrow field of view. Most obvious user disadvantages are bulk and weight. I can't imagine owning any other 14x binocular, though I could not hold them...
